Inauguration of the Louis Vuitton Foundation
During the four days of the inauguration of the Louis Vuitton Foundation, in the Bois de Boulogne near Paris, Potel and Chabot designed three cocktails and a dinner for 3,000 guests.

Exceptional reception for an exceptional inauguration
During the official dinner to inaugurate the Channel Tunnel, the House is pleased to serve Queen Elizabeth II of England and President François Mitterrand.

Our first Michelin-starred chefs
Alain Chapel, Georges Blanc and Jacques Lameloise are the first Michelin-starred chefs to collaborate with the House to celebrate twenty years of Relais & Châteaux. These collaborations with great chefs have since continued to multiply.

Reception for the Queen of England
Queen Elizabeth II of England is on an official visit to Paris. Potel et Chabot, at the request of the Élysée, is organizing the reception. A first followed by many others, such as those of Nikita Khrushchev in 1960 or John F. Kennedy the following year.

Potel et Chabot at the Longchamp racecourse
The Longchamp Racecourse is inaugurating its first dinners, with some 1400 seats, with Potel and Chabot. So a close relationship begins. Today, the House still receives guests from numerous horse races, including the Prix d'Amérique, the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe and the Prix de Diane.

Closing dinner of the Allied Conference
The closing dinner of the Allied Conference was provided by Potel and Chabot in Paris. Two years later, the House also organized the first official post-war dinner at the Élysée Palace. Potel et Chabot became the main supplier to the Republic. At the time, the presidential palace did not have a kitchen or a chef.

The Mayors Banquet
As part of the Tuileries Garden in Paris, Potel and Chabot are organizing the Mayors' Banquet: 22,500 elected officials have lunch in huge tents set up for the occasion. A feat hailed all over the world. The previous year, the House had already brought together 16,000 elected officials!

A banquet for 1500 guests
The first railway line connecting Paris to Lille is inaugurated. The House manages to keep the wines fresh for the banquet for 1500 people organized upon arrival. The secret? Ice-cream buns. An innovation for the time.

Creation of the Potel et Chabot house
Jean-François Potel, rotisser/pastry chef, and Étienne Chabot, butcher for the Duke of Orléans, chose to join forces. Together, they opened a store selling fresh and high-end edibles in the heart of Paris, on Rue Vivienne.
